Bungo Stray Dogs Celebrates a Decade with First FullScale Band Concert in Japan

Product Catalog

International ticket sales have officially opened for the upcoming 10th anniversary soundtrack concert of Bungo Stray Dogs, giving overseas fans the opportunity to attend a major commemorative event in Japan this May.

First broadcast on April 7, 2016, the anime reached a decade of popularity in April 2026. To mark this milestone, organizers have announced a special live event titled “Bungo Stray Dogs -Mayoi Inutachi No Onso– (Anime Soundtrack Concert).”

The production is positioned as a large-scale musical celebration of the series, bringing together its iconic score, visual elements, and a live audience experience.

Band Performance

The Bungo Stray Dogs concert will be staged across two major Japanese cities, Osaka and Tokyo, in May 2026. At the center of the performance is composer Taku Iwasaki, whose work has been instrumental in shaping the musical identity of the series.

He will lead a group of accomplished musicians in what is described as a full band arrangement, a first for the franchise. The performance will also incorporate projected anime visuals on a large screen, aligning the music directly with key moments and themes from the show.

This combination of live instrumentation and synchronized visuals is intended to deliver a more immersive format than previous events tied to the series. It also represents the first time that Bungo Stray Dogs’ music will be performed in a full-scale band concert setting, marking a structural shift from earlier soundtrack presentations.

Another distinctive feature of the event is the inclusion of newly recorded character voice announcements. These will be played both before and after each performance. The announcements are designed to vary depending on the specific show, adding an element of exclusivity for attendees at different venues and time slots.

To complement the live experience, official playlists featuring tracks scheduled for performance have been released on streaming platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify. These playlists function as both promotional material and a preparatory tool, allowing fans to revisit the soundtrack ahead of attending the concert.

Ticket sales for general admission began on March 28, 2026, at 10:00 JST. Sales remain open until the day before each performance, with a purchase limit of four tickets per person.

Tickets are issued in paper format only and become available for pickup one week prior to the event date. A dedicated international ticketing page has been launched to facilitate purchases from overseas audiences, indicating a deliberate effort to broaden access beyond Japan.

In parallel with ticket sales, organizers have revealed a lineup of official merchandise tied to the concert. Items include white and black live T-shirts priced at JPY 3,500, clear sacoche bags at JPY 2,800, and multiple smartphone strap variations featuring different character themes.

Acrylic stands representing key characters such as Atsushi Nakajima, Osamu Dazai, Ryunosuke Akutagawa, and Chuya Nakahara are also available, each priced at JPY 2,200. Additional goods include an A5 clear file and sticker set, along with randomly distributed can badges featuring four character designs.

Osaka Performance Scheduling

The Osaka performance is scheduled for May 4, 2026, at ORIX Theater, with doors opening at 16:30 and the show beginning at 17:30. The Tokyo performances will take place at Tachikawa Stage Garden on May 23, 2026, with two separate stages: an afternoon session starting at 14:00 and an evening session starting at 18:00. Organizers have noted that certain elements of staging and performance may differ between shows.

The concert will feature a lineup of musicians led by Taku Iwasaki on keyboards. Supporting performers include Tsuneo Imahori on guitar, Toshino Tanabe on bass, Shun Minari on drums, Jill and Jill Strings providing string arrangements, and the Yuri Nakamura Group performing as a saxophone quartet.

As the franchise reaches its tenth year, this event functions not only as a retrospective of its musical legacy but also as an expansion of how its soundtrack is presented to audiences. The integration of live performance, visual storytelling, and exclusive content positions the concert as a central component of the anniversary celebrations.
