Mahjong Pros Expands Global Reach with Strategic Distribution Deals and Spring Manga Launch

Mahjong Pros, a newly established North American manga publisher, is moving quickly to secure its position in the market with a set of strategic distribution agreements and an ambitious first wave of titles.
Headquartered in Sheridan, the company has partnered with Pathway Book Service to handle North American logistics, while Gazelle Book Services Ltd. will oversee select distribution across Europe.
The agreement with Pathway Book Service provides Mahjong Pros with a comprehensive infrastructure for print distribution. Pathway will manage warehousing, order fulfillment, and retail delivery, allowing the publisher to focus on expanding its catalog.
This partnership also opens the door to major retail channels, including Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Walmart, and Amazon. Through its integration with Ingram Book Distributors, Pathway further enables access to the iPage platform within the Ingram Content Group network, ensuring that wholesalers, librarians, and independent booksellers can efficiently source Mahjong Pros titles.
Internationally, the partnership with Gazelle Book Services Ltd. signals an early push toward global visibility. By extending distribution into the European Union, Mahjong Pros positions itself to reach a broader readership at a time when interest in manga continues to expand across Western markets.
New Manga Titles
Alongside these operational moves, the publisher has announced its debut slate of four manga titles, scheduled for release between April and June. The first, CRYBABY MERMAID: ILLUSTRATED MEMOIR OF YUUMI UOTANI, arrives in April and offers an introspective, illustrated account focused on identity and belonging. The narrative leans into emotional realism, presenting a quiet but persistent journey toward self-acceptance.
May brings two contrasting releases. REFORM WITH NO WASTED DRAWS: THE LEGEND OF KOIZUMI blends political drama with strategic gameplay, centering on former Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and a fictionalized depiction of diplomacy conducted through mahjong.
In parallel, GETTER ROBO HIGH revisits the legacy of the iconic mecha franchise originally created by Go Nagai. This new interpretation emphasizes tension, psychological strain, and the consequences of split-second decisions in high-stakes battles.
The initial lineup concludes in June with VERMILION STELLA: – ILLUSTRATED MEMOIR OF ARISA DATE, a character-driven work that explores resilience and the personal cost of continuing forward in the face of doubt and external pressure.
Mahjong Pros Expansion
For Mahjong Pros, the combination of distribution scale and carefully selected launch titles reflects a deliberate strategy. Rather than entering the market quietly, the publisher is building immediate visibility through both retail presence and distinctive storytelling. The inclusion of memoir-style manga alongside genre reinterpretations suggests a catalog designed to appeal to both niche readers and broader audiences.
“Pathway and Gazelle are going to be a big part of helping us ramp up quickly and get these books, and more mahjong products, into readers’ hands at real places like Barnes & Noble and Kinokuniya,” says Harrison Doan, Head of Partnerships at Mahjong Pros.
“As we keep expanding our manga and strategy book catalog, I’m looking forward to working closely with them to get our books in front of more readers around the world.”
With its infrastructure now in place and its first titles ready to launch, Mahjong Pros is positioning itself as a new entrant to watch in the evolving global manga market.
