The NFL made an announcement on Thursday regarding Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers, stating that he will not face any disciplinary action after an examination of an alleged assault complaint against him earlier this year.

The complaint, which was suspended without charges following a police investigation, did not provide sufficient evidence to support a violation of the NFL’s personal conduct policy, according to the league.

The incident in question occurred on January 16 in Owings Mills, Maryland, as reported to Baltimore County police by authorities in Acton, Massachusetts. A woman alleged that she suffered bruising in an assault but was initially reluctant to provide details due to the involvement of a high-profile NFL player, as per WBALTV.

The woman also reported that the player’s brother brandished a firearm during the incident.

However, Baltimore County police halted their investigation in February, stating they had no intention to file charges. They left the possibility of reopening the case if warranted at a later time.

Flowers, 23, is preparing for his second NFL season with the Ravens. In his rookie year, he showcased his talents with 77 receptions for 858 yards and five touchdowns across 16 regular-season games. Additionally, Flowers contributed nine receptions for 156 yards and a touchdown in the team’s two playoff matchups.
