Nikola Jokic: Master of the Sombor Shuffle

[ad_1]

Nikola Jokic, the Denver Nuggets’ standout star, continues to solidify his status as one of the NBA’s best players. Widely regarded as the favorite for this season’s MVP award, Jokic recently participated in an NBA event where he reflected on his signature move, the “Sombor Shuffle.”

Originally coined by Nuggets announcer Chris Marlowe, the Sombor Shuffle pays homage to Jokic’s birthplace in Sombor, Serbia. Jokic himself credits the move as his own, showcasing its effectiveness against Anthony Davis and other opponents during previous playoff runs.

Similar to NBA legend Dirk Nowitzki’s fadeaway shot, the Sombor Shuffle sees Jokic dribble, load up on his right leg, and release a rainbow jumper toward the rim. Despite floating backward during the shot, Jokic maintains a straight body, adding to the move’s uniqueness.
