Prime Video Confirms Hazbin Hotel Will Wrap Up With Season 5

Hazbin Hotel 2

Prime Video has officially confirmed that Hazbin Hotel will end with a fifth and final season, marking the end of one of the most distinctive adult animated comedies in recent years. The announcement was made during a crowded panel at LVL UP Expo on April 25, 2026, signaling both a major renewal and a definitive endpoint for the series.

Developed by Vivienne Medrano and produced in collaboration with A24 and Bento Box Entertainment under FOX Entertainment, the show has built a global following through its unconventional premise, musical storytelling, and stylized animation. The final season will stream on Prime Video across more than 240 countries and territories.

At its core, Hazbin Hotel centers on Charlie, the princess of Hell, who attempts to solve her realm’s overpopulation crisis by rehabilitating demons rather than condemning them. Her approach directly challenges the status quo, particularly following the annual exterminations carried out by angels.

Charlie establishes a hotel intended as a redemption program, hoping its residents can eventually ascend to Heaven. Despite widespread skepticism, she is supported by her partner Vaggie and their first client, Angel Dust, a troubled adult film star. The arrival of a powerful figure known as the Radio Demon complicates and potentially accelerates her mission.

The series originated from a 2019 pilot released on YouTube, which rapidly accumulated over 120 million views and cultivated a dedicated fanbase. That early success laid the groundwork for its eventual expansion into a full series. Its blend of adult humor, serialized storytelling, and original musical numbers has helped it stand apart in a competitive animation landscape.

Speaking on the announcement, Medrano emphasized her appreciation for the platform’s long-term support and creative alignment. She noted that the partnership allowed her team at SpindleHorse to fully realize their narrative vision and bring the story to a planned end.

Her comments suggest that the decision to end the series with Season Five is deliberate rather than premature, positioning the final installment as a structured narrative payoff rather than an abrupt cancellation.

Melissa Wolfe, Head of Animation at Amazon MGM Studios, framed the series as a boundary-pushing project within adult animation. She highlighted its distinct tone, visual identity, and emotional depth as key factors behind its success.

According to Wolfe, the final season is intended to provide a comprehensive and satisfying conclusion for both the characters and the audience that has supported the show since its early days.

The broader “Hellaverse” franchise continues to expand alongside Hazbin Hotel. In 2025, the property extended into live performance with Hazbin Hotel: Live on Broadway, a concert event hosted by Erika Henningsen at New York’s Majestic Theatre.

Produced by RadicalMedia, the event featured musical performances from the series and coincided with a Season Two premiere screening. The concert special is currently available for streaming on Prime Video.

Additionally, Helluva Boss, which shares the same universe, is set to continue its rollout. The first half of its third season is scheduled for release in Fall 2026, with the remaining episodes expected in 2027 following a mid-season break. Together, both series form a connected narrative ecosystem that has sustained audience engagement beyond a single title.

Hazbin Hotel’s second season debuted on October 29, 2025, further solidifying its presence within Prime Video’s animation lineup. Medrano continues to serve as executive producer and director, with Dana Tafoya-Cameron also attached as executive producer.

Production remains anchored by A24 and Bento Box Entertainment, both of which bring established credentials in film and television.

With a confirmed endpoint now in place, the fifth season carries the responsibility of resolving long-running character arcs and thematic threads. Given the series’ serialized nature and musical format, expectations are that the final installment will emphasize both narrative closure and large-scale set pieces.

The end represents not only the end of a show but also the culmination of a multi-year creative trajectory that began with an independently released pilot and evolved into a globally distributed franchise.
