Rick And Morty Season 7 Episode 9: ‘Mort: Ragnarick’ Release Date, Recap & Streaming Guide

Still cuts from the upcoming episode of the show Rick and Morty

Adult animated series Rick and Morty recently dropped their seventh season, and the show is as unhinged as ever. The series introduced fans to Rick as this alcoholic scientist guy who lacks ethics and empathy and is always up for sociopathic tricks. Morty, on the other hand, is his moral grandson, who might also be slightly dumb, but he is always next to Rick, accompanying him on his intergalactic adventures.

The show, a creation of Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, has Chris Parnell voicing a lot of different characters, Spencer Grammer, Sarah Chalke, Ian Cardoni, Harry Belden, Tom Kenny, and Kari Wahlgren, along with others all voicing a bunch of different characters.

The overall concept of the show relies heavily on the two leading characters: Rick, the grandfather who despises the human race more than anything and finds himself busy taking care of space matters, and his grandson, Morty, a guy with questionable intelligence but good intentions, always present next to Rick to make up for his lack of human emotions.

The series is known to have been created from parts of Back to the Future and is most popular among fans because of its outright dark humor, novel concept, and near-perfect scriptwriting. While the show is still successful among fans, many believe that over the seasons, the quality of the show has dropped drastically.

Roiland’s departure from the show because of his controversy had the producers find other similar-sounding actors to voice the characters, but for many, it is just not the same.

Recap

The previous episode started from where we left off in the ‘Get Schwifty’ episode. Water-T had his home planet invaded by the Numbericon. He had his dead father, Magma-Q’s, pendant that had a mathematical equation engraved on it, which he decided to show to his mathematics teacher, Mr. Goldenfold.

But with Numbericon finding out his location, he is forced to flee once again, this time with Goldenfold and Morty. While on the run, Mr. Goldenfold proves his skills by figuring out what the equation means and finds that it points to an undiscovered planet named E-10.

Sinistar-7 finds Water-T, and finally, a battle commences on the newly discovered planet, E-10, also home to the god of letters. Strangely, while fighting, the two end up falling for each other, but just when you think things will be okay between the two, Emperor Dreadnaught ends up landing on the planet to capture them all.

Not much later, the emperor’s spy, Number Eight, who was pretending to be an Alphabetrian, S, reveals his actual plan, betraying the emperor and stealing the powers of the I of Harmony. But the power itself is too strong for him to handle, and it ends up driving him crazy, and he goes on a murder rampage, starting with the emperor himself.

He starts killing the Alphabetrians and Numbericons, and it is impossible to stop. Finally, just when all hope is lost, Water-T swiftly comes in to save the day by using a powerful rap to bring together the leftover Alphabetrians and Numbericons to help him fight against Infinity, or Number Eight.

The spirit of his dead father turns Water-T into Magma-T, and he, along with Sinistar-7, uses their strong force of love to put up a great fight against Infinity, one that they end up winning. Morty finally understands the importance of knowing math equations, and the episode ends with Magma-T submitting his late homework to his teacher, Mr. Goldenfold.
