Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black Confirmed for Final Season 3 on Netflix
Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black will return for a third and final season, bringing the story of Kimmie and the Bellarie family to its end on Netflix.
The announcement follows a dramatic Season 2 finale that significantly reshaped the show’s central power dynamics. Kimmie, played by Taylor Polidore Williams, is no longer navigating her rise alone, signaling a decisive shift as the series heads into its final chapter.
“By the end of Season 2, the entire power structure shifts,” says the actor. “Part 2 is really the moment Kimmie stops surviving and starts playing the game. And once she does that … nobody in the Bellarie family is safe.”
The series had already been renewed for Season 3 prior to the premiere of Season 2’s second half, underscoring confidence in its trajectory. Since its debut, the show has followed Kimmie’s transformation from a struggling dancer in a Chicago strip club to a powerful executive serving as chief operating officer of the Beauty in Black hair-care empire.
Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black Season 2 concluded with a pivotal alliance between Kimmie and her former rival Mallory, played by Crystle Stewart. The partnership, long anticipated, marks a strategic turning point within the Bellarie organization.
“When I read that in the script, I was like, finally!” says Williams. “Kimmie and Mallory have spent the whole season circling each other, but they’re also two of the smartest players in the room.”
The finale also brought Kimmie’s husband, Horace back into the fold, completing a powerful trio intent on confronting corruption within the family. According to Stewart, the closing moments expose deeper stakes at play.

“A lot of truths come to light, and the characters start realizing that the game they’ve been playing is even bigger and more dangerous than they thought,” she says.
With the assistance of Attorney Varney, the group takes action against several members of the Bellarie family, including Horace’s sons Roy and Charles, his brother Norman, and his ex-wife Olivia. They are ultimately handed over to the FBI for their involvement in illicit activities.
“What I love about those final episodes is that they leave the audience at a moment where everything feels like it’s about to explode,” Stewart adds. “Alliances are shifting, motivations are being revealed, and the characters are forced to confront the consequences of the choices they’ve made.”
Looking ahead, Season 3 will center on Kimmie’s full transition into power and whether she can maintain control in an increasingly volatile environment. Williams hints that the final episodes will explore that central question while raising the stakes even further.
“The tension, the drama, and the power struggles are only going to deepen from here,” Stewart says, “and viewers are going to see these characters pushed further than ever before.”
Another key storyline will involve Jules, the Bellarie head of security, whose unresolved grief over his son’s death may drive him to uncover hidden truths. Williams notes the emotional intensity of this arc.
“Grief can be relentless,” she says. “When someone is carrying that kind of pain, they don’t stop asking questions.”
While an exact premiere date has not yet been announced, Season 3 is expected to arrive on Netflix soon. Until then, viewers can stream Season 2 and revisit the events leading up to the series’ final chapter.
“Have no fear, we have one more part!” Williams says.
