Undead Unluck Manga Will End in Next Week
In the eighth issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump confirmed that Yoshifumi Tozuka’s Undead Unluck manga is reaching its climax in the next issue on January 27, 2025, with chapter 239. The term “climax” often suggests either a final chapter or that a story is in its concluding phase, leaving fans curious about the manga’s future.
While there is no official confirmation from the magazine regarding whether chapter 239 will be the final installment, various translations of the latest chapter hint at different possibilities. The French translation directly suggests that the next chapter will be the last, while the Japanese and Spanish versions only indicate a climax or “super climax,” creating uncertainty about how much longer the series will continue.
Conflicting Translations and Speculation on the Ending
The French version of chapter 238 states that the next chapter will be the last, featuring an extended page count and a color spread. However, the Japanese version stops short of confirming this, only mentioning that the story is at its climax. Meanwhile, the Spanish version describes the upcoming chapter as a “Super Climax,” and the English release simply ends with “To be Continued,” adding to the confusion.
Despite these discrepancies, it’s clear that Undead Unluck is nearing its conclusion. Weekly Shonen Jump had already mentioned back in December 2024 that the manga was entering a “Super Climax,” signaling that the ending was approaching. With Mission: Yozakura Family having recently ended, Undead Unluck seems to be following suit.

First serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump in January 2020, Yoshifumi Tozuka’s Undead Unluck has become a fan-favorite, spanning 24 tankobon volumes and 238 chapters. The series has also received an anime adaptation by David Production, which aired from October 7, 2023, to March 23, 2024, running for two consecutive cours.
With VIZ Media holding the English license, the manga has gained a global audience. Whether chapter 239 is the final installment or not, the series’ conclusion is inevitable, marking the end of a successful four-year run.
