The official trailer for “Spider-Noir” has been released, introducing Nicolas Cage in the lead role of a new live-action series that blends superhero storytelling with classic noir sensibilities.

Produced by Sony Pictures Television for MGM+ and Prime Video, the series is scheduled to premiere on May 25, 2026, on MGM+’s linear channel, followed by a global rollout on Prime Video on May 27 across more than 240 countries and territories.

Set in a stylized version of 1930s New York, “Spider-Noir” follows Ben Reilly, portrayed by Cage, a private investigator grappling with personal loss and a troubled past.

Once known as the city’s only masked vigilante, Reilly is drawn back into conflict as he confronts unresolved trauma and rising threats within a corrupt and unforgiving urban landscape. Rather than focusing on a traditional origin story, the series presents a more mature and introspective take on the character, emphasizing psychological depth and moral ambiguity.

The show is based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir and adopts a tone heavily influenced by classic noir cinema. High-contrast visuals, shadow-driven cinematography, and a grounded narrative structure shape the series’ identity.

In a notable creative decision, the production will be available in two formats: “Authentic Black & White,” designed to replicate the aesthetic of vintage noir films, and “True-Hue Full Color,” offering a modern visual alternative. This dual presentation allows viewers to experience the same story through distinct stylistic lenses.

The trailer made its world premiere at CCXPMX26, held at the Centro Banamex Convention Center, where it was screened for an audience of more than 2,000 attendees. Cast members Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Jack Huston, and Karen Rodriguez appeared on stage alongside creator and co-showrunner Oren Uziel to introduce the project.

Attendees were also shown an extended scene that provided a deeper look into the tone and narrative stakes, along with a special recorded message from Cage. Fans at the event received collectible badges inspired by characters from the series, designed by Mexican artist Jorge Molina.

The ensemble cast includes Lamorne Morris as Robbie Robertson, Li Jun Li as a reimagined version of Black Cat, and Jack Huston in the role of Sandman.

Spider Noir on Prime Video

Brendan Gleeson portrays the crime boss Silvermane, adding further weight to the series’ crime-driven narrative. Additional cast members include Abraham Popoola and Karen Rodriguez, along with a wide range of guest appearances that expand the show’s world.

Behind the camera, the series brings together an experienced creative team. Harry Bradbeer directed and executive-produced the first two episodes, while Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot served as co-showrunners and executive producers.

The project was developed in collaboration with the team behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, including Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal. Additional executive producers include Aditya Sood and Dan Shear, with Pascal producing through Pascal Pictures. Nicolas Cage and Pavlina Hatoupis are also credited as executive producers.

The first season is expected to consist of eight episodes, each running approximately 45 minutes. The release strategy combines a traditional broadcast debut on MGM+ with a global streaming launch on Prime Video, allowing the series to reach a broad international audience.

“Spider-Noir” positions itself as a distinct entry within the broader landscape of Marvel adaptations. By merging detective drama with superhero elements and emphasizing tone over spectacle, the series aims to offer a more grounded and character-driven interpretation of the genre. Its success will likely depend on how well this stylistic approach resonates with audiences when it premieres in late May.
